Neighbours tree hitting house and blocking light from Solar panels.?
I want to install solar panels and have a tree on my neighbours property blocking light from my roof. It is a 7m high pine tree, within 2m of my house. This tree is also blocking my gutters and hitting my roof. Can I legally ask for this tree to be removed?
Try ringing your insurance company; if the roots and the rest of the tree risk damaging your house, they’ll know how serious the risk is (its their job to do risk assessment.) Plus they’ll have a legal department to advise on what your rights are and how to go about this.
I think the biggest problem is approaching your neighbours without starting a feud! You could also try Citizens Advice, they deal with this kind of problem.
